Reduced Flow Separation: the wave-profiled rim's alternating deep and shallow sections disrupt the airflow, preventing it from cleanly separating. This reduces turbulence and keeps the airflow attached to the rim longer, resulting in lower drag and improved aerodynamic performance.
Enhanced Crosswind Stability: the unique shape of wave-profiled rims helps mitigate crosswinds' effects. The alternating sections create small pockets of lower pressure, which help to balance the forces acting on the wheel and improve stability in windy conditions.
Optimised Spoke Interaction: the design of wave-profiled rims, particularly when combined with radially staggered lacing, allows for a more efficient transfer of power and improved wheel stiffness.
